Beware Border Pharmacy

Below is a copy of a complaint found at ConsumerAffairs.com regarding an online pharmacy.  This is just the type of thing you must watch out for when buying drugs online that I talk about in my article here about Viagra.
Kara of Charlottesville VA (7/28/03):
On-line pharmacy that offered prescription refills. Stated with a 24.99 membership fee you could order prescriptions. Well I thought I had placed an order in June and actually they did not allow me to order and only took the membership fee. I attempted numerous times to contact them via email to inquire about the membership fee and exactly what it was for. I do have all of these emails on record. They failed to respond to over 2 dozen emails over more that a two month period of time. I do not feel like this company is providing services that have justified this membership fee.

In addition to the first 24.99 they took out of my checking accont they again took out 24.99 a second time. I have emails documenting that fact I wished to have the money refunded and the membership cancelled.

We checked out borderpharmacy.com and found no information at all about the company. The site does not include a company address or telephone number. Here’s what it has to say about the “30-day trial” that Kara signed up for:

TERMS
You are purchasing a 30 day trial for $24.99 (USD)
You will be billed $24.99 (USD) every 30 days starting on 9/24/2003.
Your subscription will automatically be renewed for your convenience until you cancel.

LOYALTY DISCOUNT
? On your rebill set to occur on 10/24/2003, your subscription will be reduced to $17.99 (USD) every 30 days.

You may cancel your recurring subscription at any time by visiting customer service at www.ibillcs.com. Or, if you don’t have your billing statement or email receipt, contact iBill Customer Service: 1.800.307.3558 (U.S.) or 1.954.363.4908 (International)

We’d say Kara should immediately call her credit card company to dispute the charge. She could also try calling the 800 number above.
