Okay, I’ve been using VOIP (voice over internet protocol), or internet telephones for a few years now, and here is what I’ve found. If you’re paying more than $15 for your telephone service, you’re paying too much. If your telephone service is bundled with your cable tv provider, or internet service provider, you’re paying too much. If you use Vonage, you’re paying too much. And if you had to pay a setup fee, or pay for a telephone adaptor, you paid too much.

There are dozens of VOIP services out there, and I have researched every one of them. What you should be looking for is a company based in the USA, and has been around for a while. You should also look for a company that offers more services than just VOIP. Over the years, as many VOIP companies that exist today, have gone out of business, leaving their customers with nothing, having to go look for another company to provide them with telephone service. All of that said, the only VOIP company I recommend is VOIPo. VOIPo is a Houston (Texas) based company founded by HostGator executives and backed by HostGator. HostGator employs nearly 300 and was named 21st Fastest Growing Privately-Owned Company in America By Inc Magazine. They are financially sound, privately-owned, owner-managed debt-free, and profitable.

VOIPo offers internet telephone service for $8.95 per month for unlimited service (taxes and fees total $3 per month). No setup fee, free phone adaptor (worth about $60), and no shipping charge. You can also pick your own number, or use your old phone number. Yes, they have 411 and 911 service. I use their service exclusively, and I am very pleased with the quality and support. I highly recommend this company. See link below.

Being an affiliate means that you are essentially a sales person for an online shopping site. These site range from stores like Walmart, Macy’s, Gap, and other retailers, to travel sites, airlines, insurance companies, dating sites, wine stores, and on and on. As an affiliate for one of these sites, you receive a commission for goods and services sold as a result of someone clicking on a link they saw on your website. Once one of your visitors clicks on a link on your site, they are taken to the retailer’s site. At that point, your job as an affiliate is complete. The retailer will take care of the rest of the sale. The affiliate doesn’t get involves in the sales transaction, or the shipping.

So, after many years of research, I have developed a list of sites for which I am an affiliate, that I feel offer good deals on a variety of products and services. The list is as follows:

1. Easy-Forex is a great site to learn about, and trade, foreign currencies. I have had an account with them for several years, and I am very pleased with their service and support.

2. This is the absolute best VOIP (internet telephone) company. Best rates, no setup fees. Add an 800 number for $3 per month!

Look, since I’m a victim of this rather rotten economy, and haven’t worked for several months, I’ve been following politics very closely, and have come to the conclusion that the biggest problem we have facing this country is the incessant lying by the politicians and the media. Too many American citizens are making decisions based on lies, that it’s becoming a serious problem. These same people believe everything they hear on the news, and depending which news program they listen to, determines how they think, how they act, how they vote, how they live, and what they fear. Am I saying that politicians and news commentators should be held to a higher standard? Definitely! The minute someone puts a microphone in front of one of these assholes, there needs to be a law preventing them, or at least deterring them, from lying. Right now, they can say whatever they want, and people believe what they say, whether it’s true or not. If they’re exposed for lying after the fact, it’s too late, because the same people who heard the lies didn’t hear the retraction, or read the real facts.

I think it’s time to amend the 1st amendment. It’s time to add a clause that says, “if you have the ability to broadcast anything over the airwaves, or over the internet, or you call yourself either a politician, news commentator, journalist, pundit, reporter, or editor, you will be fined, and or imprisoned, if you lie. Think about how things would change if politicians and the media had to fact check everything before they spoke. Who is going to object to this? I’ll tell you who; people who make a living lying to the public. I wasn’t going to name names, but Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Karl Rove, and Dick Cheney come to mind. The lies that they’ve all been caught in could fill an encyclopedia. It’s true. They’ve been fact checked on hundreds of occasions, and it’s been proven without a doubt that they are all habitual liars. So just think about how they would alter their speeches if they knew they would get fined if they lie. Think about the war in Iraq for example, and the fact that it was all started based on a lie. Just in case you didn’t know; there were no weapons of mass destruction.

The fact is that we do have laws prohibiting lying. Ever heard of defamation of character? Liable? Slander? Generally speaking, defamation is the issuance of a false statement about another person, which causes that person to suffer harm. Slander involves the making of defamatory statements by a transitory (non-fixed) representation, usually an oral (spoken) representation. Libel involves the making of defamatory statements in a printed or fixed medium, such as a magazine or newspaper. Additionally, there are more than a dozen states that prohibit political candidates from lying about their opponents. However, the Supreme Court of one of those states, Washington, determined the law was unconstitutional. A single dissenting justice remarked that the decision was “an invitation to lie with impunity”.

So why do politicians and the media get away with lying? Probably for the same reason people get away with adultery. What’s the big deal, right? Have we become a nation of scumbags or what? What if we did our own due diligence by fact checking every politician before making any decisions about their opponent. Do you think we’d have time to do anything else? We do have a consumer protection agency. Is that what we need? Another agency protecting us from being lied to? We could call it the Truth or Consequences Department. Wouldn’t that be interesting. Think about it. The government protects all of us from being taken advantage of by unscrupulous salesmen and manufacturers. Now they can protect us from lying politicians and media outlets. It’s sort of the same thing…..isn’t it?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve now been out of work since January of 2009, almost 2 years. I’ve looked for work within my field since then as well, with no luck, but I’m not giving up, at least until the mid-term elections in November that is. Why is that, you ask? Because, quite frankly, if the Republicans gain control of either the House or the Senate, we can all kiss the possibility of getting a job which pays what we’re worth goodbye.

They're not standing in line to vote.

Remember back in July, when the Republicans refused to extend benefits for the unemployed? Do you see how the Republicans are not allowing anything to pass that will help the economy? Do you know why they are doing that? It’s because they are pissed that Obama got elected, and they want to make sure he doesn’t get re-elected two years from now. If they control either the House OR the Senate, as a result of the mid-term elections, you can bet your ass they’re going to turn up the heat even more.

What does this have to do with us? Well, if you’re unemployed, the first thing that will happen is that extended unemployment benefits will expire, and we will be forced to go out and take any job. And why is that a bad thing? Because we will be exacerbating the already poor economy by encouraging employers to pay all of their employees less. They are going to be inundated with over-qualified and desperate job seekers, and that means maybe you’ll get hired, but it will be at the expense of one of their other employees. Look, it’s already happening. Remember that spike in new unemployment claims we saw reported in August? You can thank the Republicans for that, when they cut off benefits, forcing millions to go out begging for work and taking jobs for short money. Yup, a lot of them got hired, but they simply displaced other employees who were then fired, and subsequently filed for unemployment benefits. So let’s see; one guy gets a job making half of what he’s used to, and another guy (or two) gets fired, and starts collecting unemployment benefits. The alternative would be to keep paying the first guy not to get a job, and the second guy keeps his job. Eventually, slowly, the job market improves because it won’t be flooded with over-qualified talent, and the first guy will get the job he deserves.

A lot of Republicans, as well as a-holes like Glenn Beck, have said publicly that the unemployed are lazy, spoiled, and get this, un-American. Do they think comments like that are helpful? Do they think that encourages employers to hire someone who is unemployed? Also, consider this: most of those same politicians, along with Glenn Beck and Limbaugh, are worth millions of dollars*. They couldn’t care less about people who are unemployed, or helping the economy. They like this economy! This economy is making them richer! Furthermore, despite these sorry economic conditions, corporate profits are up. How is that possible? It’s because labor costs are down!

So the point is this: Get out and vote this November! And vote Democratic! This country can’t afford to have a bunch of game-playing Republicans getting into office for the sole purpose of making the rich richer, and the poor poorer, and the middle class obsolete. Get out and vote, and tell all of your friends to do the same. If you do nothing, you’re absolutely screwing yourself out of any possibility of getting a good job. And that, my friend, would be un-American.

*: John Boehner’s net worth was between $2,154,029 and $7,911,000 in 2007, according to Boehner’s mandated financial disclosure statements. Mitch McConnell is worth more than 7 million. Glenn Beck made 32 million in 2009. Rush Limbaugh makes more than 35 million a year, and has a net worth of roughly 350 million.

Don’t laugh. Now that you’re unemployed, you’ve probably lost your health insurance, and along with that, any discounts you may have enjoyed when buying certain medications. Hopefully you’ll be able to get by without Blue Cross kicking in for some drugs, but I know that having to pay full price for Viagra is really going to hurt. Well guess what? There’s still hope, and I’m going to show you how you can get Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, and other drugs, not only at a discount, but for much less than you were paying when you had health insurance.

Look, you just had a major slap in the face when you lost your job. Can you really afford to heap on some more self esteem killers, like not being able to perform like a stud. Let’s face it; if we can gain a little more dignity simply by taking a little blue pill, we’re gonna do it, right? Right.

Click for more info

Okay, here’s the deal: Without health insurance, you’re now going to have to pay about $15 per pill at your local pharmacy, and with a prescription from your doctor. Or, you can do something smart, which is buy from 4RX.com and save a huge amount. How about brand name Viagra for less than $6 per pill, or better yet, Generic Viagra, which is the same thing without the advertising, for less than $2.00 per pill. Yes, less than $2 per 100mg pill.

I suppose you want to know the difference between the brand name Viagra, and the generic Viagra. Well, I’ve tried both, and I can’t tell any difference.

Now, here’s what you can expect when you make a purchase from 4RX.com . The website is very easy to navigate, and is self explanatory. I suggest that if you are buying generic Viagra, you buy at least a 30 pack of the 100mg pills. You will probably find that you will want to cut the 100mg in half because they are rather potent, but you’ll save more money than if you buy the 50mg pills. Hey, just a suggestion. Place your order, and don’t worry about giving your credit card information; this is a secure site, and a trusted company. They have improved their shipping process, but you’re still looking at about 10 days before you receive your package. If it makes you feel any better, I know for a fact that they get a lot of repeat business.

So, remember; at this period in your life, maintaining your self esteem is paramount, and if these little miracle drugs do it for you, by all means, don’t cut these out over money. Hey, we all know the benefits, so I don’t have to go into that now. But, if you’re concerned with how your wife or girlfriend is going to look at you now that you’re unemployed, having a secret supply of Viagra will help keep a smile on her face.

Note: 4RX.com has other popular medications besides just great sex meds. They also sell Acai, Tamiflu, Hoodia, Valtrex, and more.

Dear Mr. DeStefano,

Thank you for passing along your concerns regarding unemployment insurance benefits. As always, I value your input on this and other issues, and strive to keep you updated on the important issues facing us today.

I understand your concerns about providing additional unemployment benefits to those hardest hit by the recent economic downturn. Like you, I recognize the importance of these programs for individuals in Massachusetts and across the country who have lost their jobs and are hurting in this difficult time. As you may know, over the past few months, Congress has been debating various proposals to extend unemployment benefits.

On July 21, 2010, the Unemployment Compensation Extension Act (H.R. 4213) passed the Senate and was signed into law the following day. This legislation reinstates federal unemployment insurance benefits that expired on June 2, 2010, and extends them through November 30, 2010. While these programs would bring much immediate and temporary relief to the millions who are unemployed, this legislation is not paid for and adds more than $30 billion to our nation’s debt, which is currently a record $13 trillion and growing. We cannot afford to add to the over $42,000 in debt that is already owed by every American.

It is my belief that we cannot keep spending money we do not have and burdening our future generations with an unsustainable level of debt. It is for this reason that I voted against H.R. 4213. Instead, we need to start paying for things, which is why I introduced a fully paid for alternative, the Fiscally Responsible Relief for Our States Act (S. 3551), which would have provided unemployment benefits to those struggling to find jobs, while avoiding passing on additional debt burden to our children and grandchildren.

Under my proposed legislation, emergency unemployment benefits would have been extended for the same six months, fully paid for by using unallocated stimulus funds and cutting other wasteful government spending. This is a common-sense approach that provides necessary support for individuals in need without continuing our current fiscally irresponsible habits. Unfortunately, the majority would not allow a vote on my legislation and instead pushed through a bill that included billions in deficit spending. I remain hopeful that in the coming months we can work together to start to find ways to pay for worthy programs like unemployment insurance without adding to the growing national debt. As the legislative process moves forward, I will keep your thoughts in mind.

Again, thank you for passing along your concerns. If I can ever be of assistance to you in the future, please don’t hesitate to contact me or visit my website at www.scottbrown.senate.gov.

Sincerely,
Scott P. Brown
United States Senator

Well now, I have just a couple of questions.

1. How are you paying for the wars?

2. You voted against extending benefits because you’re concerned about our children? Do you think people who are unemployed don’t have children?

3. You did vote for the Jobs Bill on August 9th, so I guess you’re not a complete idiot. You did the right thing.

4. You are however, in favor of extending the Bust tax cuts, and that will increase the deficit by 174 billion, every year, for the next 10 years, while renewing the extended benefits for the unemployed increased the deficit, once, for 34 billion, which you voted against because it wasn’t paid for. Did you actually read my letter, you moron?

5. The Bush tax cuts were a temporary (7 year) reduction in taxes, mostly benefiting the rich (or about 2% of this country). Over the past 7 years, the average income of the middle class did not increase, while the rich got a lot richer (it’s a fact). Is this not a redistribution of wealth, from the middle class to the rich? You bet your ass it is. And we want our money back……NOW!

Hey, be happy you got a 7 year break on your taxes, but it’s over. Sorry, we (the middle class) can’t afford it any more, and don’t even try slinging that bullshit about how it will hurt small business, because that’s another debate you’re sure to lose.

Over the past month or so, most House and Senate Democrats have been trying to get the extended benefits for the unemployed renewed until November 30th. Extended benefits are a federally funded program which extends unemployment benefits beyond the 26 weeks of benefits funded by states by up to 72 weeks. The program was first introduced in 1970, and has been used during every recession since then, and when the unemployment rate is over 5 or 6 percent. History shows that this program works, and Congress has never allowed the benefits to expire while the rate is over 7.2%, until now, with the unemployment rate at 9.5%, the highest in 32 years.

It appears….surprise, surprise…that ALL of the Senate Republicans are refusing to approve the extension of benefits, primarily because it will add to the federal deficit. Duh! Of course it’s going to add to the deficit, but to use a phrase made famous by Senator Bunning, TOUGH SHIT! Just because it adds to the deficit doesn’t make it a bad thing. Consider this: While people are unemployed during this recession, which is seeing the worst unemployment levels since the great depression, they still need to eat, and pay their bills while they look for suitable work. It’s important to note the word “suitable”, and I’ll explain why a little later. If you think these people are on vacation, then you’re a idiot. I’ve been out of work since January of 2009, and have looked for work in my field every day since then. At one point, I had started my own business as a website designer, thinking that the extended benefits I was receiving would carry me through until my business starting earning on its own. Well, when my extended benefits got cut off, I had to abandon the business, and now I’m looking for work that will pay anything. I guess this is what the Republicans want; for people to shelve their entrepreneurial aspirations, and just shut up and take a job making minimum wage.

The above unfortunate scenario is happening across the nation. And here is a sneak preview of the economic carnage that will result from not extending benefits while the unemployment rate is this high: First, the labor market will be flooded with people who are desperate to take any job, regardless of pay. Employers will be enjoying a huge pool of over-qualified candidates for any open position they may have. The laws of supply and demand will then take effect, and pay rates and salaries will drop. They will drop like a freaking stone, and then guess what else? Deflation. Inventories will increase, but consumer spending will plummet, because the consumers aren’t making enough to live. Prices on goods and services will drop, credit will completely dry up, foreclosures will increase, and the economy will basically go into the toilet. You think things are bad now? Wait. Forget about buying a car, a house, or sending a kid to college. The middle class will be turned into peasants.

40 years ago, some pretty smart economists figured out that it takes time for a recession to burn out, and the last thing you want to do is to add fuel to the fire by flooding the labor market, which is why they recommended supporting the unemployed. Yes, basically paying them not to take a job that pays less. Consumer spending will eventually pick up, and more goods and services will be required to meet the demand, this will create jobs, which will increase consumer spending, which will create jobs, and so on. Before you know it, the economy has recovered.

So, thanks a lot, you moron politicians for preventing the economy from recovering. Go take some economics 101, before you vote NO on something as important as extending benefits to the unemployed, or millions of folks like me will be voting “NO” for you.
